I’m pretty sure I’m in top 10%. I’m sorry, but I can’t be more specific, as my school does not officially rank.

Fair chances. But at that level the results are always surprising. Your GPA is a bit low, but hopefully your other stats could potentially make up for that.

Just out of curiosity, does the undergrad course I’m going to take at Princeton count for anything? I was kind of hoping it was a game-changer.

Probably not, sorry :/

Lol, okay. Looks like we’ll have to see. :-/

Well, it may actually end up being a little bit extra “umph” …but a “game changer” it will not be.

Hmmm. That’s a little aggravating, because I had to drop 4 courses from my schedule to make room for the PU course. Uh oh.

To be honest, the gpa may take you out of the running for HYPS, Columbia, Brown, and Dartmouth, and Penn, especially because there isn’t anything particularly distinguishing about your ECs (for an Asian Male lol). But you did get national level for some events which could help. Even though you show a clear upward trend I wouldn’t necessarily count on it for those schools. The average entering gpa at such schools is close to 3.9. But, it’s worth a shot to apply. The rest are reasonable matches or slight reaches. And, Bs in health!?

You have a chance. Just write those essays well!

“Another laundry list? How boring.”

I’ll let you interpret that for yourself. :|

Uh. What? I was just asking if its worth applying. College apps are expensive, and my family isn’t exactly rich.

So, should I apply to all these schools? Also, can anyone tell me which schools are financial viable for me? My family has allocated about 180,000 dollars for my college education. Things aren’t looking too awesome, as I plan to become an infectious disease specialist (no, not because House is one), and will be in school till I’m about 30.

All of those are very expensive.

How good are their financial aid packages?

It depends on the school and how much money you have. With 180,000 put away for college, it may not be likely for you to get FA.

Now merit aid might be possible, bet the Ivys and other very high ranked schools don’t give merit aid (except I think Harvard gives it to like one super amazing kid each year. But with your stats you could get very good merit aid (maybe even full ride!) at schools that are a bit lower down, like on the level of Rutgers, UCs, UNC, UWM, UMich, and Georgetown (though I don’t know if those in particular offer merit aid).

Bump. Bump. Bump.

Bumpppppppppppppppppppp

Dude. Seriously. No. I’m sorry, but you really don’t stand a chance.

D: Really? Why? :(

Your EC’s are meh. Your grades are meh. The only thing that’s remotely good on your app is your SAT scores, which don’t matter. Better start looking at those safeties.
