Class Size: 566 | Public School (not very competition, I heard it is ranked like 800 in the nation out of 2000 that were ranked)</p>

*Capital Markets Contest 2009 (a state wide contest sponsored by the California Council on Economics Education)- First place! (4 people per team)
*California State Economics Challenge Championship 2009 (of 200 participating schools): First Place team in Adam Smith Division for state of California. (4 people per team)
*Economics Challenge West Regional 2009 (next level after state): Second Place Team for Adam Smith Division in the west region of the United States(out of 7 States). (4 people per team)
*Kern County Regional Science Bowl 2009: First place team out of 32 competing teams. We then qualified for nationals. (4 people per team)
*National Science Bowl 2009 Alumni: Third Place on Team Challenge of Bromery Division was the only thing we accomplished. (4 people per team)

THIS SUMMER'S ACTIVITIES:
I am interning at the Electrical Engineering Department at UCSB this summer with a professor who is well known in the Semiconductor Device field. (GaN semiconductor stuff)</p>

<p>I am interning with a UC Santa Barbara economics professor as well.</p>

<p>Long list, but I hope you guys can read all of it and give me feedback!</p>

<p>I’d say you have a fair shot at those schools. HYPSM are going to be reaches for anyone, regardless.</p>

<p>Since you’re in California, I’d say you’re competitive with other Asian students at the California schools. </p>

<p>I’m sure you know your numbers are fantastic. I’d just focus on essays and find a way to set yourself apart from other Asians.</p>

<p>Certainly impressive numbers…I think you have as fair of a shot as anyone for the schools you’re looking at…just keep in mind, it is a LOT different here on the East Coast, for better or worse…good luck!</p>

<p>Djokovich, I see that you posted this under lots of forums (saw this under MIT forum also). My advice is to don’t stress out too much-you are on the right track.</p>

<p>why don’t you bump one of your other 1000000 threads instead of making a new one?</p>
