<p>i applied to the agri school as a food science major.</p>

<p>i did research at a university in food science. did a project for science olympiad on a topic related to food science and earned honors at state and local level.</p>

sat 2: 800 math 2, 710 physics, 750 us history, 650 literature
3.75 gpa (very competitive maryland school but top 10% despite low gpa)
basketball captain, varsity 4 years
artist, several minor awards
debate team, several minor and decent awards, also on the eboard
national honor society eboard member
science league captain, most improved award, small honors
volunteering here and there for basketball, art, science league and other stuff around the community
recommendaiton from research professor who was a cornell alum
decent common app and supp essays

<p>Hey I’m from Marylan too, and your stats look pretty good! Don’t say your GPA sucks because mine is worse and I’m applying to CALS too. I would say you have a shot at getting in as you demonstrate excellence in a variety of things, and it doesn’t hurt your teacher is an alum. Good luck!</p>
