<p>So, Rice is my dream school. I've done all I can do to "demonstrate interest"-- attended information sessions, did the interview, did the overnight visit, campus tour, etc. I will be submitting my application for the Early Decision deadline pretty soon here. However, I'm still feeling insecure about my chances. I'd appreciate it if some of you would look at my stats and tell me if you think I have a shot...
SAT -- 2160 (800 CR, 750 Writing, 620 Math)
The AP classes I have taken/am currently enrolled in include: World History (5), Biology (4), Comp Sci(3), English Lang and Comp (5), US History (5), Physics B (3) , Latin (4), Government, Economics, Psychology, BC Calculus, and English Literature.
I had a PSAT score of 212 (perhaps commended? Have not received news of anything yet).
I am in the top ten percent of my class (we are not ranked individually yet) and have a weighted GPA of 4.24.
I have worked at a local university and at a literary magazine.
I am the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper and a member of the school literary magazine, as well as a member of various national honor societies and a few other clubs.
Mostly what scares me is that my math grades have always been poor (as you can see from my SAT score, math is not my strong suit. I know a 620 is way below their average accepted math score). But I'm hoping this doesn't matter as much because I am applying to the Humanities college as a prospective English major.
Do you guys see anything that could put me out of the running? I'm feeling pretty down about this. :(</p>
<p>Also, I am in state but not from Houston. And not diverse in any way racially or culturally. </p>
