bumpbump just need a bit of opinions from current students

If you don't believe your essay is excellent, why are you submitting it?

ok, an excellent essay, then whats the chance?

Your academic work is the single most important thing in determining college acceptance. W/out knowing your gpa/rank and the classes you took nobody can really say. The test scores are obviously above average for the school and will be a big plus.

3~5% ranking

I mean the person X is in the regular admission not ED

BumpBump pleas help

alright, I'll let you know what happened w/ ppl from my school (ranked one of the best high schools in the state of pennsylvania; public school that is). I got in w/ valedictorian and 2320 sat, but I also got around 30k in scholarship. Another kid was top 5% and had 1540 M+V sat but a bad writing section and he got 15k scholarship. Both of us got into stern and neither of us had outstanding activities but he did a varsity sport and i had 2 officer position and about 150 hours of community service. Personally i think my essay was amazing because i used it for wharton as well and i spent 20+ hours on it. One other kid also got into stern and he had about 2100 sat w/ top 10% rank but he was one of the best band members in the state and had all kinds of awards for saxophone. With sat like that and a solid rank (assuming that your high school is about as competitive as mine) I would say that you have a really good shot at getting into stern (average sat is around 1430 M+V and your rank is prob around the average). From what I hear, NYU admissions is a bunch of suckers for high sat scores, so that should really play into your favor. You may even have a shot at a good scholarship since your main stats are close to the one kid from my school and he got 15k. Hope this helps.

oh my sat IIs were 2 770s and my friend that got 15k had an 800 and 700

well, a nooby question, when do I apply a scholarship? when I am applying NYU(in the application form) or after I get into Stern and then apply for the scholarship, and if I need to apply that while I am applying NYU, will that affect my chance to school? or I will probably be accepted but without the scholarship

well, can someone help me about that nooby question?

you don;t apply they either give it to you or they don't

I had a friend who got a 2050 on her SATs and got into stern, and didnt ask for fin aid.

liangshengtm - You are automatically considered for merit scholarships when you apply to NYU. If you need other financial aid (as most people do), you apply for financial aid when you do your application. The financial aid is filed in a separate office from your application and does not affect your chances of admission.

I encourage you to speak to the financial aid office for any questions you have.

Oh, now I have a brief idea, thx alot guys
