I just graduated from Penn undergrad and am planning to apply to law school this fall. GPA 3.35 (but 3.62 in my major, History), LSAT 168, average extracurriculars. Will have worked for a law firm for a year by law school but don't think this will really help my application since I just started working and will only have a few months of experience by application time. Can I get into a top 25 law school? I am an Asian/non URM

Look at these rankings: [Top 2010 Law School Rankings](Law School Rankings)

Then go look at the admit numbers for applicants at the specific school: [LSN :: Welcome to LawSchoolNumbers.com](http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com)

This should give you a good idea. On numbers and LSAT alone, you should be on target for the lower top 25.

Does going to Penn make any difference? I keep seeing mixed things about whether the institution’s quality matters, since I know grade inflation is also something that has to be considered. Also is it only overall GPA that matters or does success within major make a difference (I’m guessing not since law school admissions seems to be a lot about being well rounded, and that your major in college doesn’t really matter so succeeding within a major doesn’t really do anything)

It will make almost no difference. It would be the equivalent of a small ec. Its overall GPA and LSAT scores.
