Which U of R are you referring to?
University of Rochester
I don’t know specifics about U of R, but I live in the area, some people I know go there, and my sister was looking into it for a little bit, so I have a bit of general knowledge about it.
Financially, the sticker price makes it a reach if you’re anything close to my financial situation (lower middle class, dad works 2 jobs and my mom works 1 minimum wage job). I don’t have any knowledge about scholarships or grants, but I know there are a couple good ones.
Academically, I feel they try to pick a diverse group. One girl I know that goes there (and is still there) was in her top ten, out of around 100 or so students. However, one boy I knew that used to go there dropped out after freshman year had average grade, definitely not top ten, but wasn’t a super slacker either. He also got into the party atmosphere of the school, which probably caused him to fall behind with the college classes. I don’t know if the girl is in the party scene very much, but I doubt it.
You should be good! What other colleges are you applying to?
