Chance for 2013

Hello I have been reading this forum a lot and decided to finally make a chance thread. (I know it's a bit early) I will be applying for 2013. I will apply for summer term

My stats are 1900 SAT score (super score) I will take it 1 more time to maybe do a bit better
My Florida GPA (the one my guidance told me they use for FSU/UF/UCF) is around 3.62 I have taken some regular, many honors and a couple AP (4). I've always wanted to go to FSU but now I'm thinking I have no chance because of what I'm reading. My second choice would be UCF if you guys could chance me for there also. I've only taken 2 non academic courses and 1 was mandatory. Thanks

Also I have 250 community service hours

Those stats should be fine for summer admission at FSU.

lol you have a good chance. i got in with a 3.6 fsu gpa and an 1870 and NO hours at the time of application. (i have 77 now though and im aiming for 100)

The big question:

Have you ever received a grade below a C in any class? Your stats are great, but as we have seen this year, the stats don’t necessarily guarantee admission, as one bad grade has killed multiple people’s profiles.

My grades

Freshman year (worst year) -
4 C 78 78 76 and 72
4 B
1 A

Sophomore year -
8 B 3 A

Junior year (at current rate) -
9 A
5 B’s

So I have never gotten a D. And apart from a 72 in an honors class my lowest has been a 76 and 2 78’s all in honors and they were all freshman year.

I think you’re in good shape then.

what pasbal said. you have a very good chance.

Woah, strangely enough, I am also a junior that would like to attend FSU’s summer session and we have nearly the exact same academic profile :o good luck!

You do have a very good chance, I’m starting this Fall and i have worse sats then you…
My super score for SAT was 1800
ACT 26
High School GPA unweighted: 3.5
weighted: 5.2
And I’ve taken 6 AP classes, but you still have a year.

But if you want to have more of a summer and start in August like I did, give Fall a shot!

I might of been an exception to the stats rule, as nobody really knows why they were accepted, but I did dual enrollment(something you might want to look into at your school) and so I’m starting at FSU a semester ahead with 15 credits and a 3.7 GPA, so that could of played a role in why got accepted despite my scores, and GPA. Also my essay was pretty good, I got it edited by the two AP lit teachers at my school, and my college professor, and my community service hours were pretty up there…
