Chance for a Presidential Scholarship?

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me an idea of whether or not I had a chance at getting one of the Presidential Scholarships at BU. I applied to the School of Music as a viola performance major.

Class Rank: 17/483
AP Scholar with Distinction:
US History- 5
Biology- 5
English Lit and Comp.- 5
Music Theory- 5
World History- 4
Macroeconomics- 4
GPA (unweighted): 3.8ish

Extracurriculars:
All-State Orchestra
Varsity Orchestra President, Principal Viola
Principal Viola in city orchestra
Quiz Bowl Team
National Honor Society, National English and Science Honor Societies, Mu Alpha Theta
200+ volunteer hours at a local children’s hospital

Let me know if I need to provide anymore information, not sure what to include and what not. Thanks so much!

honestly, i’m not sure how they decide on who gets the presidential & who doesn’t…

i’m 6/98, got a 32 on the ACT and a 1930 on the SAT (which is low for BU), yet i had a ton of ECs and community service hours… and i got the presidential scholarship.

i think you have a very good chance of getting it, but i think it all boils down to how well-written your essays are & how well-rounded they think you are, combined with your transcript & test scores.
