name: x1397
residence: MD

nationality: filipino (first generation american)
gpa: either 3.2 or 3.5. unweighted, since i've never taken an hnrs/AP til sr. year.
grade: senior 2010

-course load: all regular, no honors/ap until senior year. reason because my school has prereqs that i didn't meet, & the only reason i made hnrs. courses senior year is bc i had to fight for it. the teachers @ my school for reg. classes screwed me over.

my school doesn't rank.

-OTHER:
personality-wise i'm REALLY hardworking; i'm not lazy at all. it may not show with my gpa, but like i said, the regular course teachers really screwed me over. the reason i didn't opt for honors/ap courses since senior year is because of the prerequisites at my school; i had to FIGHT and pull a few strings for my senior ap's. i KNOW i could handle the honors/ap workload, but like i said, my regular course teachers COMPLETELY screwed me over. i'm always taking the chance to show my leadership qualities and enhance my people skills.

**at my school i'm a year younger than everyone because my school is in a different state & their kindergarten age was different than my residence age, so i couldn't legally take a job or drive until i was a junior.

since i go to a private catholic school my religion classes would be considered history classes, so technically when i graduate i would have 5+ years of a history, not including my asian history & ap psych.

i think my "hook" would be that i live in maryland but attend an out of state school for six years? i don't know if that's "intense" enough.

i don't speak tagalog, but i understand it. completely.
i understand only a little bit of 2 filipino dialects (kapampangan & ilocano)
i'm taking other language courses outside of school, in addition to my 4 years of spanish in hs. spanish 4 honors senior year.

i can get some awesome, awesome letters of recommendations.
