We need the weighted gpa to do any real chancing here…

weighted according to the UC gpa calculator is 4.17

^That’s a pretty low UC GPA.

From what I know, the recalculated UC GPA is very different from what your actual GPA is (it is usually higher). For the sake of this chance thread, you would want to find out your son’s class rank, if he has one, and what weighted GPA appears on his transcript.

According to the paperwork he received today, his UC GPA is 4.4. He has not yet received his class rank.

bump

Anyone?

My S applied to USC, Duke, Rice and WUSTL two years ago and was accepted to all four, three with half-tuition scholarships. He had similar stats, however, he was a Political Science/Econ/Pre-law major, not engineering.

Your son’s stats look excellent and I think he has a great chance of acceptance at all of these schools. Essays and short answers are extremely important to differentiate himself from the pack of engineering applicants who typically have the top test scores and AP classes.

Best of luck. My S ended up attending Rice and he loves it!
