Chance for Early Decision?

I will be applying ED to Cornell next year, and was wondering if some people wouldn't mind giving me their opinion on my chances. I attend a large and highly competitive school (average ACT is 28). My GPA is very low, but has a substantial upward trend. ACT is slightly above Cornell's average. The non GPA parts of my app will be pretty much average for Cornell, maybe a little below.

I am being recruited for athletics... by a professor. This professor is essentially the only contact that this team has with the school's administration. However, the professor does seem to be highly influential and connected within Cornell. I would also be a legacy.

I would have no chance without the hook, but I guess it really comes down to how influential professors can be. Anyone have any input?

my standardized test scores were rly bad and i have no connection at all. so i think ur at a better position when i was. its so much easier if ur a recruited athlete, and ur also a legacy! just make sure ur essay is strong and get good letters of recommendation. also, its going to depend on what major ur applying.

good luck!
