My son is a current ChE major. He was told in a class that the UT Engineering department does not do rolling admissions. However, I recall posts on this forum that other applicants to an engineering majors reported they were accepted. I don’t quite know what to make of that.

I don’t think they have completely decided who is going to be accepted into the class of 2017. The decisions will be released in February – my son found out in late February last year.

lisiatc: After hearing this I feel so much better. I’m a bit surprised about how much longer we have to wait, but I’m happy that it’s not rolling admissions.

Xcellerator: I’ve heard that EE is actually one of the more popular majors, but also easier to get into than BME or CheE. I’m really hoping my test scores can boost me, though I’m not sure UT looks at AP exams. Thanks!

It appears that the ChE admin tells the students one thing when something else is actually done. I wonder what other misinformation they passed along. It was supposed to be an informative class.
