Chance for Ivies, Stanford, MIT?

<p>Currently a junior in high school and wondering about my chances for a top ranked college. I don't know how much I stand out. </p>

<p>Unweighted GPA: 4.0
Weighted GPA: 4.7
SAT: 2370 (800 Math, 800 Reading, 770 Writing)
PSAT: 234 (Not sure if National Merit Semifinalist or Finalist yet)
SAT II: World History 740, but probably going to take Chem, Latin, Math II.</p>

<p>APs: World History (5), Music Theory (4)
Current and Future APs: US History, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Physics C: Mechanics, Latin: Vergil, Calc BC </p>

<p>I hope you will apply to your state flagship as a safety.</p>

<p>So I’m about average. Are there any ways to make myself stand out?</p>

<p>There are lots of threads on how people got into Stanford, UPenn, etc. </p>

<p>The key once you have good stats and ECs is to present a very persuasive, focused application showing that your potential is beyond those of the multitude of other people with the same stats as you.</p>
