Hi! What are my chances to get admitted to the Stanford's MSCS starting Autumn 2009? I will also be seeking 50% RAship (because I am interested in the "Distinction in Research" track), although if unsuccessful, I would be willing to pay full tuition for no more than a year.

Note: I am "technically" not qualified to apply (since they require a 4-years honours degree from an Australian university), but I am hoping that they can waive this requirement. I believe that I'm as academically well-prepared in terms of coursework as a 4-years american bachelors.

Personal info:
- Current university: University of Melbourne, Australia
- Bachelors of Science (3 years degree, currently finishing off my 2nd year
- current major: Pure Mathematics (take alot of CS electives)
- Average grade: 88/100 ~ 3.83/4.0 American GPA
- won a couple of awards: Trinity college academic award, Dean's Honours list, melbourne abroad scholarship.
- one research paper (unpublished) on "Sturmian words and the Fibonacci substitution", written during a summer research program
- currently trying to find a winning strategy for the game of "Hex" (11x11 case), and will hopefully write up this research by the end of this semester

- plan to enter a PhD program in Computer Science after the Masters degree.
