my school is Arcadia High School, I think is pretty competitive

School I applied(all math major )

NYU CAS ED

award is national ap scholar, roll of honor

Your UW GPA almost on par (3.6). However, your SAT scores are far below the norm. NYU SAT scores this year ranged from 1950-2230. Your SAT is an 1830. It is generally recommended to have a 2000+ for NYU CAS.

While your math and science scores are good, your reading and writing scores are going to hurt you a lot. That said, I would say NYU is a high reach for you.

so do I still have chance? even it is like 5%?

and does ED will affect anything? I applied ED

YidingShao, I would say you definitely have a chance. I’m a current NYU student in CAS (although I started out in Liberal Studies/Core Program) and your grades and SAT scores are better than mine when I applied. Some other factors that your admission status may depend on are the major you are applying for and how you answered the more odd questions on the application. Also applying as a Math major with SAT and SAT2 math scores in the 700’s definitely helps compensate for your weaker scores. Best of Luck!

Thank you, is Liberal Studies good? I alternatively applied that too

Probably too late to ask, but did you get in?
