ESSAYS
-I've got alot of interesting topics with Make-A-Wish and my heart condition and different events...plus I used to want to be a journalist and have taken many writing classes. I am a skilled writer so these won't be a problem. Update: My essays (I believe, are amazing! and so do others! I dont wanna give away my topic but it was very creative!)

RECS
-My AP French Teacher-she went to Paris and London with me on a class trip. She knows ALOT about me.
-My AP Lang. Teacher-had him for two yrs. He went to Northwestern U. He is the best writer I know and we are great friends.
-I got my US History teacher--HIS REC IS AMAZING! he is very intelligent and really saw something in me.

I really want to know if I can get into here. I am applying RD. What are my chances? I'm hoping my weaker parts like my act and rank will be overshadowed by my writing and personality that will shine through my writing. Thanks so much...and for you fellow college bounders--Good Luck!

I’m afraid your class rank and test scores make BC, NYU, and UChi reaches. I wouldn’t consider BU a safety school, but a match. I think you have a solid chance at BU and a great chance at Penn State.

thanks for your thoughts. If it helps… I am applying to NYU CAS. I really don’t think they will look at my ACT score and be like…NOPE–DENIED. That is one score out of my entire HS career. (my gpa is pretty good.) Also my essays and recs should overshadow this. But you never know. I got into Loyola University and they gave me a scholarship but NYU is my dream school. I love NY.

Dunno what to make of a GPA since it’s not a 4-pt or 100-pt scale.

my school gpa is out of 5 instead of 4. it is really frustrating but I can’t change that.

You can recalculate your GPA on NYU’s scale. It’s not difficult to do. 4.0=A 3.0=B etc. average all your scores and voila: your 4.0 scale GPA.
