Thanks a bunch Omicron. Would you say positions of Student Body President and Newspaper Editor in Chief are impressive. These are both great positions but don’t show really self-motivation/initiative, at least in my eyes.

What these people have said.

Make sure your presentation of yourself is consistent throughout your application; don’t let all of the things you’ve accomplished drown each other out.

@emberjed

Thank you. I don’t believe I have thrown myself into a laundry list of ECs like other people have. I feel like mine are distinguished and few, but important.

Re: your question in #13.

When it comes to nonprofits, I would think that the best way to explain it would be to start with why you were motivated to set up the non-profit in the first place, perhaps a personal anecdote. How you managed it would be of slightly more importance if you’re a business/econ major because that would be evidence of you being a great businessman! Otherwise, like omicron mentioned, commitment and passion is key! How much time you put into it, how much effort, what did you do and how it impacted the people around you. Phone call - not of much importance, how much you have raised, don’t drag it out, just a single mention would be sufficient to give readers an idea of the scale of your project, but don’t make it a bragging point, no one likes arrogance But definitely something you should be proud of :)

OK, so the gist is that it’s more important to demonstrate your commitment to the organization as opposed to how successful it might be.

Yup definitely HAHA omg can’t believe you summarised my long ranty paragraph into one line…

I think that you EC are great as well as your scores, so they are all “doable”, just make sure that your supplements and essays are AMAZING

-_-

You are fine, objectively speaking. Your recs and essay will be the deciding factor.

dude you have a great shot at all of these schools… you make me wonder why i even apply to schools when i have competitors like you :(

Your choices are extremely realistic. You have just as much chance of getting in as anyone.

bumppppppppp

bump (10chars) aa

i honestly think you can get into all these schools. i wouldn’t worry about the Bs in French. apply ED to wharton and you’re a shoe in. i think you can get in RD. best of luck next year.

Thanks for the info ipodnano.

Your stats are amazing. Just work on the essays haha

thank you for the info abusedphrase

I’m a little confused by not for profits? You are 501 c3? Is this more like a club with our friends? Are you writing letters to influence? Explain.

@murphy600

There are two non profits. One is filed under 501c3 and one under 501c4. This is not a club at school with our friends. These are geared towards long term form the ground up planning and organization. We aim to provide young entrepeneurs with connections and opportunities in the form of workshops and team building activities. It’s something that has just recently been started and I plan on working on even after high school. It is a great learning experience for me and I was hoping to write about it on my essays.
