Well you seem to desperately lack something that sticks out in your application

You’ll probably get into like 2-3 but your chances at any specific one aren’t very good because these are such really great schools and even though you seem like the above average applicant for these schools they are still very selective.

Your GPA is an important factor. Your SAT definitely gets you past the academic requirement for all of these schools, especially since you have an 800 in math and a 770 in writing. Oddly enough, those two are the most important factored into MIT admission. Last year, 18% of applicants in the 750-800 range got accepted as opposed to around 12% for the Cr in the same range. 14% for Math.

I’d say your ECs aren’t amazing, but they are good. What is your intended major? Try to show passion for your intended major.

Georgia Tech: low match
Vanderbilt: high match / low reach
Duke: low reach
Emory: high match
Georgetown: high match
Notre Dame: mid match
MIT: mid reach

Thanks!
My top three choices are definitely Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Georgetown. MIT and duke are definitely the two that I consider to be my “reach” schools. I agree with Vanderbilt being a high match/ low reach, as my CR doesn’t fall within their mid 50%. I do however find it interesting that you see Georgetown as a high match and Notre Dame as a mid match. I’ve always considered notre dame to be the harder of the two to get into. But then again I’m new to this lol. I do however enjoy seeing that, as I would probably pick notre dame over Georgetown if I was lucky enough to get into both.

If this helps Im going to MIT in the fall.
3.696 GPA
2290 SAT I
710 Chem, 660 Math I, 760 Math II, 600 Physics( didnt pass this in lol) 700 Biology.(SAT II’s)
I didn’t believe this when I heard it myself but the interview and essay are more important than your GPA in the admission process. I mean look at my GPA not to hot, but I interviewed with a woman and she kept me for close to 3 hrs. (Average interview should only be 30-45 min)
