<p>Hi fellow CC!
Vanderbilt has always been my number one choice and I was wondering if anybody will tell me my chances of getting in as a PreMed undergrad?
I am currently a sophomore in a Private high school.
I am top 3% in my class of 100
Academics:
so far a 4.0 UW and a 4.9 W
*8th grade- in 8th grade i went over to the high school building to take Honors Biology with the sophomores and Spanish 2
*9th grade- straight A's in all honors(english, history, Chemistry-a junior class, college algebra- a junior class as well, and spanish 3)
*10th grade- straight A's in honors english, honors physics(a senior class), duel-enrollment Pre-Calc(a senior class) and AP European history (taking the exam next week but definitely shooting for a 4 or 5), honors Latin, and honors yearbook(editor of the academics section)
*11th grade classes i will be taking& shooting for straight A's- AP english, AP US history, AP biology, duel-enrollment Calc, duel-enrollment Statistics, Honors Choir, and honors yearbook (will be editor)
*12th grade classes i will be taking& shooting for straight A's- AP english, duel-enrollment Macro-Micro, AP physics, duel-enrollment Gov, duel-enrollment Calc 2, honors choir and honors Yearbook (editor)</p>
<p>Extra Curricular-
*president of NJHS
*danced in a Company all my life till 9th grade (tore my cartilage in my ankle during a recital and have had 2 surgeries so far and can no longer do most sports)
*Varsity soccer in 9th grade(had to stop because of my ankle)
*Varsity crew in 10th grade
*student council member
*class president 9th&10th grade
*in the Spanish NHS
*secretary of the Junior Classical League
*vice president of JSA(junior statesmen of America)
*current member and chair person of NHS
*shooting for president my senior year of NHS
*Founder of Bandaids for booboo's(collect medical supplies and ship them to missionaries in Haiti)
*Editor of the Academics section of the yearbook(our school's yearbook is nationally recognized)
*junior and senior year I will be the Editor
*will be doing Crew again my junior and senior years</p>
<p>Work/Volunteer-
*worked a Kilwins(ice cream shop) Feb 2010- August 2010- they closed i wasnt fired
*Hostess and Villagio August 2010- March 2011- quit because they were SO unorganized
*currently working at Robert Kelley's(a Vandy alumni& top 5% lawyer in Florida) as his assistant
*I had 150+ hours of community service from missions trips
*150+ hours from volunteering at the local hospital(still volunteering there)</p>
<p>Summer Programs-
*summer of 2010- went to Summer@Brown and did an AMAZING medical program(no credits)
*summer of 2011- I have to work, but at night im taking an Anatomy/ Lab class at Broward College for 4 credits and also i will be interning at the hospital for a few weeks.
*summer of 2012- most likely the Vanderbilt Med 101 class or internship at the hospital</p>
<p>My uncle is head of the Engineering Department at Princeton and the lawyer I work for is a Vanderbilt alumni, so hopefully I can get good recommendations from them:)</p>
