Hi, I will be a senior this year and am wondering what my chances of admission are.

Hispanic male in state (Austin)
ACT: 33 (35 M, 35 S)
SAT: 2140 (770 M, 690 R, 680 W)
Class Rank: 169 out of 625 (27%) - Bad freshman year, raising trend. Should I mention this? and how?
Weighted 5.0 GPA: 4.7462
4.0 GPA: ~3.7
Attending an extremely competitive school while taking only rigorous Pre-AP and AP courses (taking IB HL comsci)

Extra Curriculars
Will most likely be in the National Hispanic Recognition Program
Varsity Cross Country (10,11,12)
Tech Club PR Representative (11,12)
Python Club (11,12)
NHS (12)
Volunteered at Tour De Cure for 5 years
Attended two Codeday: Austin 24-hour events and won an award for the most technologically advanced project at one

If you have any suggestions on how I can increase my chances please tell! Thanks! \m/

Also, on Apply Texas should I put undeclared as my second major choice?

It’s your call about second major choice. CS is arguably the most competitive major to be accepted in the college of natural science (limited spots, funding, etc).

On a side note, you can mention about the background of class rank in a short answer question that’s part of the application for UT (at least there was a “discuss struggles in your career” question when I did it).

Thanks for your insight, do you think that my class rank will cause a significant dip in admission chances?

From what I read on bealonghorn website and based off freshman profile of 2013, you’re above the average for standardized testing for CNS and your GPA is aiding you in the Academic Achievement of Holistic Review. It seems to me you have plenty of info of activities under Personal Achievement. Your rank percentage is, in my opinion, just a minor inconvenience. You could use optional essay S (not on ApplyTexas) to explain HS freshman year.
