What I'm trying to say is that academically it's sinking in that I'm not exactly "Ivy League" material, but it was because I was busy doing all these insane excursions.

Do you think I could somehow show that in my application essays to admissions?

I would have a 3.7 - 3.8GPA if it wasn't for a 2.94GPA I got freshmen year. I heard some schools exclude freshmen year so I'd really be hoping for that. I'm Investment Banking or Bust guys, I really don't care about entrepreneurship, but I'm really good at it.

Desperate for Advice on how I can Attend an Ivy League School with my **** Academics.

Most schools exclude the freshman year so that’s good news. Your success with your company adds an interesting dynamic, and your resume could make up for ‘non-Ivy League’ grades. Your SAT scores point towards a Pepperdine, NYU, USC, University of Virginia caliber school (All of those are good schools). A Ivy League school is going to be a stretch but that’s no reason to not apply. Harvard/MIT etc. is probably out of your reach, but for UPenn/Cornell etc. you could have an outside shot.

If what you are saying is true, that is awesome. I’ve never seen someone make that much as such a young age. One girl in my school got into UPenn with a 1900 and she is like you in a sense. Good luck

wannabe, my kid is a high school junior and she knows kids who own their own companies…here’s a kid who is 17 and started his own company…and was accepted to Harvard in EA for next fall…I was following his story on CC – http://www.piggysalary.com/

It is not a reach. With his starts, though mildly weak, he would have a decent chance at the schools he applied to. With a $2m company which shows his sophistication and that he is going into commerce, he is a match for practically all the schools.

OP:
caveat, the universities will easily find out if you are lying (which I do think you are). By the way, if you already have the entrepreneurial skills, why not just focus on making your company more lucrative (of course that’s none of my business).

Can you run your company from college? Thats awesome that its worth 2 million. I wonder why you even need to go to college yet. If its that successful by age 17, imagine what you could do if you committed full time for a year or two. Good luck on penn!
