Hey! I’m nervous about college and wanna know my chances,
Gpa: 3.1 freshman year, 3.9 sophomore year, currently in junior year
All IB or pre-IB Classes
Okay-Good extracurriculars (Secretary of Amnesty International, Model UN, A few internships, lots of volunteering and other things)

What do you think?
Which colleges?
^^That.
Also until you get standardized test scores (even a PSAT as an approximation) it is hard to chance.
Sorry! Forgot about that!
Colleges: U Miami, Boston University, UC Berkeley, American, GWU, UT Austin, UC Davis, Occidental, University of Washington.
Act is 31.
Home state? OOS publics tend to be very competitive. Are you needing financial aid or merit scholarships?
UC GPA capped weighted and fully weighted? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
If OOS, only AP or IB classes taken 10-11th grades will qualify for the extra honors points in the calculation. Will you fulfill all the required a-g courses including year of visual/performing arts to qualify to apply to UCB?
Intended major? Race/Ethnicity not considered by the California UC’s.
UC GPA unweighted- 3.83
UC GPA Weighted- 4.83
UC GPA Weighted and Capped- 4.83
I’m also OOS and no financial aid
Intended major is social work with a minor in education
Capped weighted maximum is 4.4 so you cannot have a 4.83.
You realize that you will need a graduate degree if you plan on doing social work? Also do you realize that the UC’s will cost around $260K for 4 years. With the prospect of requiring a graduate degree, low pay as a social worker and the high cost of the UC’s for Undergrad, why are you considering these schools?
Exactly^^
Social work is a very demanding job with really low pay. I’ve worked with social workers in my clinical setting who are frustrated with their caseloads and with their poor pay. You want to spend $260K to get an undergraduate degree and then, pay another chunk of money to get the grad degree? Minoring in education also isn’t going to pay the bills.
It does not make financial sense. Did you discuss this plan with your parents?
I’m just considering social work, I’m also interested in other things like African American studies or law or any of the other cool studies Berkeley has
You may want to think this through a bit. It is great that you want to major in what interests you but you need to consider your ROI as has been noted above.
