Will my AP scores hurt me a lot? I don't know what happened with my APUSH, I thought I would get at least a 4 maybe a 5. I wish they let you see the report.

Will my GPA hurt me a lot as well?

I also live in a college town that houses a prestigious university that usually takes a lot of kids from my town. However, there are a lot of kids in my town so it will be competitive. I'm really worried I won't get in.

My college list is the following but I'm hesitant now with reaches seeing how junior year turned out:

1-4. 4 Safety Colleges
5. Tufts University
6. New York University
7. Dartmouth College
8. Harvard University
9. Cornell University
10. University of Pennsylvania
11. Amherst College
12. Duke University

I can like sense it already, admissions into colleges #1-6 and then rejection from ALL colleges #7-12.

Are you a business-undegraduate candidate or just arts & science? it’d be great if you could specify which program you are applying for…ex) NYU-Stern? Penn-Wharton?, Duke-Trinity?

Arts and Sciences

Dartmouth looks reasonable. You should consider UC Berkley, your a great match for that school. Just goes to show how crooked the AP Test system is, I do not think it will hurt your chances at all.

UPenn, if applied through ED, seems to be a relatively easy target for your stellar scores…Although RD UPenn wouldn’t be that difficult either. NYU, you’re definitely getting in. Why would you not aim for higher schools like HYPS, Brown, Columbia, etc? I wouldn’t say you would have problem getting in with any of those schools you’ve mentioned.
You don’t have to mention AP scores if you don’t want to.
You could permanently delete the unsatisfactory AP scores as well (that’s what I did).

Good stuff, great scores, solid grades. I don’t really think the APs will hurt, you dont have to put them on your transcript either.
Here’s what I think
5. Tufts University - lowish match (Note, you might get rejected because Tufts often rejects/waitlists many applicants who they feel are just using the school as a safety or low match, its called Tufts syndrome)
6. New York University - in
7. Dartmouth College - high match/ low reach
8. Harvard University - reach
9. Cornell University - match to high match
10. University of Pennsylvania - high match/low reach
11. Amherst College - high match/low reach
12. Duke University - high match/low reach
I think you will get into at least one of 7-12.
