Your test scores are great. SAT, ACT, subject tests. Phenomenal. The awards, while few, are impressive. Your ECs are weak. There is a loose connection between engineering and the Science and Math club, and a slightly stronger connection between biomed eng and the microbio lab. Many of the ECs youve participated in are extremely common, especially among your ethnicity. Your application does not scream any sort of passion, which will make it more likely to just blend in with all the other applicants. Your course rigor is also concerning. It seems most of the AP classes you didnt take until senior year. Does your school not allow you to take AP classes junior year? Your weighted GPA doesnt mean much without giving us a class rank or what scale its on. I’d imagine a 5. scale, yea? The most important thing in your application is going to be the essay. That will be your only opportunity to stand out. Otherwise, youre mostly qualified in terms of what theyre looking for academically, but unfortunately so is most of the other people applying. Of course I didnt read your essays, but if they were great you have a decent chance. If they were simply average, or otherwise lackluster, I don’t think you will be admitted.

I think you’re probably in. If your weighted GPA were higher and more diverse ECs were there, I would be fpositive. But I’m just a bit doubtful now. I’d say 75-85% you’ll get in. Good luck teyre great chances!
!
I don’t want to rain on your parade, but I’m not sure your chances are as good as previous posters indicate. The acceptance rate is 12%, but it’s even harder to get in as a foreign student. Good luck.

giraffeinatree, I come here only during my sophomore year, so I was not able to take more AP Courses. My counsellor said she would writing a separate essay about me being disadvantaged.
I think you’re in decent shape. Test scores, GPA, and awards are spot on. I think your main disadvantage is your extracurriculars. While they aren’t bad, they aren’t unique and won’t set you apart from other applicants. Thousands of applicants will have extracurriculars similar, or better than yours. I think you if you write stellar essays, you have a decent (not excellent) chance. I really think you should consider other schools like Wake Forest, UVA, and NYU. Best of luck! Please chance me back?
