Chance Me and I WILL Chance You Back

I am half Sri Lankan (Asian-other) and half Irish

I have a 3.90 GPA unweighted and a 4.50 weighted.
SAT: 2170 (710 reading, 760 math, and 700 writing)
ACT: 32 (34 english, 32 math, 36 reading, 27 science, 9 essay)

AP's: Sophomore year I took AP Euro, and junior year I took AP Calc AB, AP English Language, AP Statistics, and APUSH. I got a 5 on every single one of the AP Exams. This year I'm taking AP Calc BC, AP English Lit, AP Biology, and AP US Government.

Class Rank: I am 12th out of 538.

Extracurricular: I have played high school sports for all 4 years; I am currently on Varsity water polo and Varsity swim. I have about 200hours of community service.

Colleges: I plan to apply to UCLA and USC as my top choices, and LMU and UC Irvine as my backup schools. I know I should apply to more, but I want to stay near my home in LA. I will most likely apply for an IVY league for graduate school.

Major: I want to major in mathematics, but will I have a good chance of getting in? I didn't take AP Chem or any physics, so science is definitely not an option. Any majors that would increase my chances of getting in?

oh, and I skipped second grade; I just turned 16 this month (I am the youngest in my grade)

Honestly, I think especially because you’re instate you have really good chances at all of those schools. Your SAT/ACT scores are solidly in their range and GPA is solid. Maybe apply to UC Berkeley since you don’t have to do another application as a sort of stretch school. Also depends on your SAT II scores

oh oops. My SAT II scores are Math: 760, US History: 740, English Lang: 740. I am retaking math and I am also taking biology in December.

It seems to me that, as the above poster said, you have a great shot at all of those schools. You’re in state so that’s a big plus (I wish I was in state for UCs). I also think that your heritage will help you too. I bet if you apply to UCLA, UC-Berkely, and another top UC, you would get into at least one of them.

Instate like you indeed have a great chance of getting in on all those schools. I heard that being asian however will sort of reduced your chances.

Match to all; Asian does not effect you in the UC’s, so don’t worry about that.

You are a match at all of your schools! You should maybe apply to UCB and UCLA too! Good luck :)
