thoughts on chances? i really don't have a clue on what schools i should expect to get into since the counselors are really no help. FYI, I want to transfer to liberal arts for theses schools with major prob Economics.

You’ll probably get into all of them if your essays/LOR’s are solid. If you’re willing to apply to so many OOS publics might as well apply to some privates as well? Can see you getting into Cornell, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Vanderbilt type places

Since you are applying to big schools I think you have a great chance of getting in. I’d second the other guy in applying to privates since you are applying to OOS publics.

One last thing. I would see if you can finish the GE requirements with CC credit. It looks like you have a lot of redundant units. e.g. college algebra, finite math, biz calc and pre-calc are all useless with calc 1. Likewise for Japanese 1 with Japanese 2. Accounting will most likely transfer over as elective units unless you are business major. Econ might be a Social Science GE depending on the school but then again if you are an Econ major they may not allow it fulfill both major pre-reqs and GE requirements. If you don’t look into fulfilling the breadth requirements you might find that upon transfer you still need a lot of courses to graduate.

Bomerr, thanks for advice. Yes, I understand that the few maths are a bit redundant. The only reason I have those courses is because my original plan was to apply solely to UIUC Business which requires those classes. As far as the rest of the classes go, I have made sure that they transfer successfully to other schools for the majors I’m interested in. There is one thing that worries me after reading your post. Do you think these redundant units will inhibit my chances of getting into OOS?

If you finish Calc 1, then it’ll supersede any schools requirements for pre-calc, biz-calc, finite math and college algebra. So it would have been better if you just that from the get-go but I don’t think it’ll hurt your chances of transferring. Maybe if you were applying to super small LACs where it would be better to have calc 1-3 and LA/DE done instead.

The real catch is, with your current classes you could transfer but then find out you still got a lot of lower devision GE classes to fulfill. For instance. If you wanted to attend UCB.

You got the english requirement done
you got the math requirement done
you have a foreign lang dome

you got a biological science done (bio)
you have a social & behavioral science done (psy)
you got the international studies req done (geography)

You are still missing:

arts and lit
historical studies
philosophy and values
physical science

So basically if you transferred into UCB, you would have to take a whole semesters worth of CC level classes. Obviously it could be different at other schools. Like if I listed it for IGETC (the universal CA GE guide pattern) you would only have like 40% of it complete because it requires more than 1 course from each area.
