Extracurriculars:
Art is a huge passion of mine. I could spend hours talking about the structure and form of a building, the colours and composition of a painting, the texture of a sculpture. Art is something I sincerely find fascinating. I study art history on my own time and in school and have taken art classes each year of high school so far. Next year I plan to AP in drawing/painting. My artwork has been published 7 times in a nationally-sold teenage magazine inspiring creativity in both visual arts and writing. You can see my artwork here if you are interested: [Crewed on deviantART](http://crewed.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/)

I also do a lot of writing- both prose and short stories. A lot of this writing is based around artwork- I have a journal of favourite paintings of mine, and whenever I am able to view one in person, I write a personal contemplation about it. I frequently use art galleries as settings in my writing.
I also spend a lot of time attempting to assist impoverished peoples in both the local and global community. Through Key Club and Hope For Humanity, a student-run organization, I volunteer at retirement homes, tutor young children, raise money for a school in Bangladesh, contribute to international efforts/fundraising to stop genocide in Darfur, and provide local homeless people with clothes and food.

Hooks:

 • I am a permanent resident from England.
 • I will have two extremely strong recommendations. One is from a teacher I have had for three years (four at the end of 12th grade :P) whom I believe will excellently portray my love of writing and art history in her letter. The second is from my Brown professor who taught the Macroeconomics class I took this summer. He held a few of us after class on the last day and told us that he’d be more than happy to write recs for us, since he teaches at Brown during the school year. He mentioned that the recommendation letter would be very strong.

After spending three weeks at Brown and learning the ways of student life there, I’m fairly certain that Brown is my dream school. It’s certainly a stretch that I’ll get accepted, I know, but I thought I’d ask around anyway. ED is just for those who can pay the full price tag, correct?

Thank you very much for your time. :)

When do you sleep? :D

I think you have a good chance, just work on those essays and recs.

I like these: http://crewed.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/art/The-Marriage-of-Intellect-161192031?q=sort%3Atime+gallery%3Acrewed&qo=3

I actually can’t sleep more than 4-5 hours a night. If I do, I become very drowsy throughout the day :stuck_out_tongue:
And thank you very much for the response. I’ll try to do just that :)

Fantastic, just downplay your achievements (e.g. DO NOT BE ARROGANT) and make sure you pick the 2-3 things that make you stand out most (art, writing and charity work?) and write about them loads; the rest should be more of a “wow, she is a well-rounded person who is an active member of her community” rather than make you look like you’re laundry-listing your achievements. Best of luck!

You have excellent EC’s.

Amazing stats! Maybe you should consider applying for the RISD/Brown dual degree program.
