Chance me at IU and Purdue

What do you think are my admission chances at these colleges? Applied Early Action and my intended major is Interior Design.

STATS-

From Indiana (so in-state for IU, Purdue, and Ball State), straight white female

Unweighted GPA: 3.16
(terrible I know, but I had a terrible freshman year academically as well as two family deaths in 6 months which I told in my essay. However, I have had a pretty steep upward trend ever since then and in junior year I got all A’s except one solid B and one high B )

SAT/ACT scores: SAT - 1220 / ACT - (superscored) 27

Courses in high school: my high school does not offer ANY AP/honors classes. I was however on the College Preparatory Track as opposed to the normal track, and our curriculum was very intense and college-prep (also accounting for the lower GPA).

Extracurriculars:
-Varsity soccer for 5 years; captain junior and senior years, Defender of the Year, made the All-Star team for State tournament, Heart of Gold this year
-Choir for 5 years; in both honors ensembles by 10th grade, in the highest levels of sight-singing and theory, on the Student Council junior and senior years, sung the title solo for our Christmas concert (in addition to other duets/trios/etc.), gave multiple speeches and featured/dramatic readings. Also received some minor awards.
-Big sister/mentor/tutor for a younger dyslexic girl
-Babysit a lot
-Paged for the Indiana Senate when it was in session

Recommendation letter(s) VERY good

Would really appreciate your thoughts and advice for me, thank you so much!

@16Defender for IU, you’re a solid candidate! Your gpa is pretty low but isn’t what determines your admission. Your grade trends are amazing though! To improve from freshman year to your junior year with pretty good grades is really amazing. My cousin attends Purdue (Data Science) and he said that he barely got in with his 33 ACT, 3.9 unweighted GPA and a tech startup. If you really want to go to Purdue, I would start out at IU or Ivy tech and then transfer there. Best of luck! I’m a senior also from Santa Clara, CA applying to some schools also. It’s a tough process.
