I had a few setbacks during my high school tenure. I live in a single parent family with a really low gross income, consisting of only my mother, grandmother and me. My mother was forced to go on medical leave due to her diagnosis of heart arrhythmia. I inherited most, if not all, of her responsibilities. Over the years, my grandmother's diabetic condition worsened. This forced me to cater to her needs most of the time when I'm at home. To make things worse, she fell a few times and hit her head, which made her even more sedentary. To sum things up, I had a lot of **** to do at home..... Anyways, I was forced to go on medical leave as well during my junior year (anxiety, migraines), which accounted for my 2 F's and a D (as well as my low GPA, I had no option to make these classes up). I tried to be as involved as possible. I've been in basketball for 4 years (2 years in varsity, co-captain), which was/is very time-consuming. I've held leadership positions in the school's executive board as well (head of committees/ Secretary). I founded a business during middle school, if that counts, which led to my passion for business. I volunteered at a hospital, and I have very close connections at a temple (which I volunteered at a lot as well). I had two unpaid jobs. I've been involved in other clubs as well. I have two strong recs from my APLang instructor and my counselor. I'm in a bit of a rush right now, so I'm not going to list everything. So feel free to add comments or questions. This is my only 'super-high reach' school, and I have well-developed essays for the writing section. I'm just curious about my chances, thanks.
