<p>Hi everyone, I was just wondering if you could look over all of my stuff and chance me!</p>

<p>How highly does Oxy really weigh EC's and work experience?
ACT-27</p>

<p>Reading: 31 English: 29 Math: 24 Science: 23 </p>

<p>G.P.A- 3.6- ( I attend one of the most rigorous private schools in Denver..) I do, however, have a couple of C's in math.. 3.8 this past term, though.</p>

<p>Extracurricular Activities:</p>

<p>Student Body President
-Organized a Make- A- Wish service project to sponsor one child's wish. (Trying to give back to the organization that gave so much to my brother while he was fighting Leukemia)
-Organized a social justice forum at my school. SO MANY FUNDRAISERS TO ORGANIZE! </p>

<p>NHS President
-Organized student service projects.. (S.W.A.G- Serving With a Grin)
-Organized fundraisers
-Organized social functions</p>

<p>Speech and Debate Captain
-I was able to be a part of the first speech and debate team in my schools history. I participated in the Public Forum and Student Congress debates.</p>

<p>West Side Buddies Mentoring Program
-Tutored an underprivileged student from 1st to 4th grade. 2 hours a week. I have poured so much time and effort into him. But being able to see him grow socially, academically, and spiritually has been more than worth it! </p>

<p>Youth Board Member at the Young Americans Center for Financial Education (Co-Chair)
-Organized major fundraisers for the Center/Bank and also other service projects
-Met with Colorado political figures and discussed importance of financial literacy for kids.</p>

<p>Varsity Golfer - Captain
-Co-Captain (Junior Year)
-Captain (Senior Year)
-State Qualifier</p>

<p>Varsity Basketball- Captain
-Junior Year was a full time starter.
-Averaged 8 points and 6 rebounds during our 2a Championship Season.</p>

<p>Intern for Organizing for Action
-Canvassed for democratic candidates in 2012</p>

-I was the leader of a Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge team that
Placed 8th out of 40 teams</p>

<p>Junior Coach / Mentor for The First Tee of Denver
-Lead mentor this past summer.
-The First Tee is a non-profit organization that promotes life skills & leadership through the game of golf.</p>

<p>Essays: Got great feedback from teachers. Wrote about my first canvassing experience and related it back to my time in an HIV orphanage of South Africa.</p>

<p>Interview: Thought it went well. </p>

<p>Recommendations- Both will be glowing, no doubts about it.</p>

<p>I would put this as a low reach. Even though your grades/ACTs are not terribly lower, the math/science low ACT is not a good sign. If you get past the grades/scores consideration, I think you are set, but I don’t know how high the bar is.</p>

<p>Lol no need to bump…I am here to comment. Your EC’s are really exceptional but your ACT is a bit low…(sorry to have to say that). I think you will be fine if you emphasize your ECs in your essays. Chance me again? (Any suggestions)
