You Can Chance If You Want To....

<p>Cheesy. </p>

<p>Anyway, I am interested in hearing what people think of my chances. I have some more stuff I could put on, but I will just include the biggies. </p>

<p>Tests:</p>

<p>SAT: 1450 M/CR. 730 W
SAT II: Took US History, Literature, Math II. I anticipate scores of over 750. We’ll see.
AP:

  1. US History - 5
  2. Chem - 5</p>

<p>Grades:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.9142
QPA: 4.6565</p>

<p>All honors freshmen/sophomore year. 2 AP, 1 IB junior year. 4 AP, 1 IB senior year. </p>

<p>Activities: </p>

<p>Debate - President of my team, three time qualifier to nationals, made it to Tournament of Champions for the top 78 teams in the nation </p>

<p>Journalism - Editor-in-Chief. Had leadership positions as a sophomore and junior. </p>

<p>International Marketing Team - Presented strategy to Bayer Pharmaceutical execs. Took third place out of 12 qualifying teams. </p>

<p>Web Design - I run my own website. Ranks in the top 20 for its category according to BlogFlux. </p>

<p>Ski Club - 3 year participant </p>

<p>Stock Market Club - Founding member. Listened to lectures from experts. </p>

<p>National Honor Society</p>

<p>Natural Helpers - Nominated by students/staff as a leader who frequently helps others. Went on one week retreat. Organized drunk driving awareness days. </p>

<p>Volunteer: </p>

<li>Worked at sports camp for inner city kids. </li>
<li>Taught golf for 3-5 hours on Saturdays to underprivileged students 1-3 Saturdays a month for two years. </li>
<li>Salvation Army Toy Drive - Worked 3-5 3 hour shifts during Christmas for three years. </li>
</ol>

<p>Ok...so you know the drill...The Ivies are a crapshoot. But you have good scores,a great gpa and amazing ec's....wow! I think you should write your essay's on the International Marketing program you presented to Bayer...that's very impressive and unique!

<p>i don't think any of them are out of your range. you definitely have a chance at all. but you certainly shouldn't be accepting acceptances from the first block of schools on your list.</p>

<p>I think you're very qualified for most of your schools; some are slight reaches, but those are the Ivies. Ivies are hit or miss for EVERYONE. You'll get into college, just write the best essays possible.</p>
