Hello, I am a current sophmore in high school and am wondering my chances at these schools: Princeton, Harvard, West Point and the Air Force Academy. I am also very open to opinions on what college to choose and anything I can do to improve my chances.

Academics
-3.99/4 unweighted GPA
-4.17 weighted GPA
-Class rank is 3/622
-Took 2 AP's this year, signed up for 3 Junior year, all honors classes

Athletics
-3 sport varsity athlete in Cross Country, Basketball and Track
-Hoping to be captain in all 3

ECs
-student council, running for an executive board position
-just got accepted to NHS
-Fellowship of Christian Athletes
I know I'm lacking here.. difficult to find time with the three sports, any suggestions for what else I could get involved in would be aprecciated!!!

Other
-I teach sunday school as well as Vacation Bible School
-I've been in band since 6th grade and am in my school's top band
-taking Spanish all through high school

I really don't have a good feel of how much I need to do to get into these schools so any input would be great, thank you very much!

What score did you get specifically on your PSAT? That might help for chancing so that we could have some idea of a projected PSAT to SAT score.

Oh man It was a couple months ago, the percent is what really only stuck. I’ll try to find the papers, I’m getting the idea that the ACT/SAT are very important lol. That being said will the ECs I have now be enough?

it’s really hard to suggest them because they can be so varied. it’s really about just finding what you like and running with it (no pun intended).

Your ECs are lacking, but let me give you some advice: Don’t go around scrounging for ECs. You shouldn’t just sit back either, but don’t stress yourself out about it. Thinking constantly about what you could possibly do to get an Ivy-worthy resume is good thinking in small amounts, but the best and most impressive ideas come when you’re not searching for them. You just need to stay dedicated to the things you love, and something will come along that you love even more. An Ivy League-attending person, a wanted and prized person, is one who creates, not replicates. You need to give yourself time. Forget worrying about your ECs. They’ll come to you, I promise. Worry about your SAT score. :)
