Chance me at Stanford!

I’m currently a Junior in second trimester looking to apply to the Stanford Class of 2021 next year. Stanford is my first choice, as I want to pursue an education at a college that lives and breathes cross-disciplinary studies (in my case, raw medical science of human bio + its social applications in public health/international studies) but I’m not sure if I would have a better chance of admission with EA or RD after assessing my stats. Here they are below, I would really appreciate it if you guys could chance me for Stanford and maybe provide some insight on whether I should pursue EA or just RD.

SAT I (breakdown): 1st try - 2150 (660 CR, 740 M, 750 W & 10 Essay)

Average/fair chances. Amazing extra circulars. SAT for now is lacking considering the average, but if you get it to be 2300+ your chances are greatly increased. GPA and class rank is lacking a little bit as well. Definitely apply.

Good chance at stanford, SAT could definitely be improved over time.

AMAZING EC’s. Stanford will really, really love these and your self studying. Stanford looks at your intellect and love for learning more than they do academics. Your SAT should be fine. You’re a very competitive applicant I’d say.

However that hook needs work…

thank you very much!

I think you have a good shot with those EC’s and if you can get a 2300+ on the SAT, I would definitely consider applying early to Stanford. Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1833625-chance-me-for-usc-ucs-cal-poly-etc.html#latest

Maybe try ACT if SAT doesn’t hit 2250+. Everything else is on point, assuming junior year finishes up alright.

So I read on Stanford’s site that they consider the highest section scores from all your sittings on the SAT, which would bring my score to a 2260 (highest was 720 CR, 740 M, 800 W). Does that help me out a little more? I’m working to get an 800 on Math on my 3rd attempt in December, and hopefully a 2300+ in the sitting, but if I just got an 800 on the Math it would bring my superscore to a 2320.

I saw an above post about lacking gpa which is false because it’s near perfect. Your SAT is really up there with superscore. What really fascinates me are your EC’s. I wouldn’t begin to know how to start some of the things you did. Care to share how you got some of these started etc? I’d really like to be able to have ec’s like those under my belt even though it’s a bit late. Personally going to study more into comp sci, programming, making websites etc. sorry for hijacking your thread kinda but you have better odds than most, great ones at that.

@superbowser12 Thanks man! No problem at all, just PM me and I give you some more details

I’m kind of in the same boat as @superbowser12 I’m amazed with how much you’ve done! I hope I’m not being annoying by asking you, but how did you pull all of that stuff off?? Im a junior and want to go to Stanford. But compared to you I’ve done just about nothing haha. How did you find time for all of those Ap’s? I’m in 4 right now and I feel like I might die. And any tips on self studying? I do not have the schedule space, or the time really. But I love business and no schools around me offer the economics Ap’s. How did you get into those research opportunities at that college? And did you have any trouble getting those k-8 schools to let you come teach their kids? I would really like to do something similar to that with teaching and motivating young students but so far I haven’t been able to make it happen. Thanks for your post and and replies to me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Your ECs are extremely impressive and this is coming from someone with multiple patents. I’m hoping to join the Stanford University Class of 2021 applying SCEA as well, and I hope you get in! You seem to have that deep passion and intellectual vitality that they say they look for. As for your chances they are way better than most, but nothing is guaranteed with a 5% acceptance rate. You still have over a semester to improve your test scores so don’t worry about it. You’re really close to the average. Maybe try new SAT or ACT? I thought the new SAT was easier (based on PSAT).
