Chance me at UC Davis + other low tier UC's

I just want to get this over with and have people give me an hones prediction of my chances. I'm currently a junior who was hoping for higher tier UC's, but I know now that it's impossible.

Ethnicity: Hispanic

Projected UW: 3.62 GPA (all 4 years)
Projected W: 4.05 GPA (all 4 years)

What killed me was my second semester of my sophomore year. I was going through some problems in my family and we even had to end up going to a family counselor. Basically, I ended up with 1 A, and the rest B's. I've taken the hardest classes available to me. I took 4 APs this year and ended up with a 4.33, since I got two Bs both semesters.

Projected Senior Schedule
AP Bio
AP Calc
AP Gov
AP Civics and Econ
AP Spanish Language
AP Lit

I'm taking all APs senior year to help boost my GPA, but apparently, colleges won't look at those grades, so I'm pretty disappointed. I plan to get all A's next year, I'll make sure to completely apply myself. I also heard that UCs only calculate your GPA using grades from 10th and 11th so I think I'm screwed.

UC UW: 3.5 (current)
UC W: 3.83 (current)

SAT: 1900 (going to retake)
ACT: 30 (also going to retake)

ECs:
Lifetime CSF member
FBLA for 3 years, projected secondary officer, participated every year
Science Olympiad 3 years, I've participated every year and done relatively well
Planning on establish NHS since our school doesn't have it.
Editor and writer for the school newspaper.
Part of organization that specializes in community service projects for local preserves and whatnot.
Varsity cross-country 1 year, planning to do track and CC next year.
300+ hours at local hospital, planning for internship.
Planning to get a job over the summer.
Spanish Honor Society, projected officer

AP Test scores: Dunno yet, but I think I did decent.

Also, I'm pretty sure I left some things out; I just can't remember everything.

I just want someone to be blunt with me. Don't even bother chancing for UCB, UCLA, or UCSD since I'm not getting into those. Am I basically screwed for UC's? If I write a good essay and improve EC's, will I have a remote chance at UC Davis?

Sorry, you’re not getting into any of them. You might get into UC Merced and Riverside, but those are reaches.

Consider a community college.

I am pretty sure you can get into Davis, Santa Barbara, and Irvine.

You’re not going to get very far with those grades, and your ECs are below average at best. Also, your SAT score is a bit mediocre, ACT score is okay. also sports for one year? lol, and ucs don’t care that you’re taking a bunch of AP classes they can tell you’re doing it because you failed epically in some other year. like I said, try CC or some medium to low tier CSUs

If you get above 2000 on the SAT, you most likely can get into the ones I said previously, and have somewhat of a shot at UCSD, depending. I would also consider some private schools, as you would get an affirmative action boost. Also, ^ ■■■■■.

^^ Who the hell is this dream-crushing ass…

Don’t listen to him, you’ll get in at least one UC ;)

EDIT: Not you Stevenf

Thank you so much Stevenf. That other guy made my heart race for a bit. I’ll make sure to do better on the SAT and ACT.

Lol, YOU MIGHT get in considering the amount of competition, but I doubt it. but yeah, try WAY harder at SAT. 2000 and below is below average.

TheGreatDeceiver sucks at ■■■■■■■■ more than USA sucks at soccer. Enough already.

I think you have a low reach for the low tier UCs. I know a senior this year, she got into uc irvine and davis with a 3.5 and 1400 in the SATs.

GPA is relative to the school…at my school the average gpa for UCSD acceptances were around 3.7 weighted

And we had a lot of acceptances… so if you go to a competitive school, that gpa is fine. In fact the average GPA for Berkeley at our school was only a 4.0 w :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d say in for everything below UC Davis, and probably in for davis :p
