Hey guys, I’m a up and coming senior and I’m wondering my chances of getting into my goal school of UMN CSE.
Gpa-3.74
ACT-30 (10 writing)
AP Classes: Calc AB-5 Calc BC-4 Stats-4
I’ve taken many summer math courses in order to accelerate my learning. I took Calc BC during my sophomore year, Linear alg. during junior, and I am taking multivariable at normandale this coming year through pseo. I do multiple volunteer activities including volunteering at a retirement home and at a local elementary school. I am also a captain of our schools quizbowl team. I am an in state student and my parents have been to college if that affects anything. My gpa curve is positive seeing as during freshman year I got a 3.5 and Junior year I pulled a 3.94. What are the odds I get into CSE?
GPA is un weighted
also have had a job at a bike shop for two years
@GotGamePsycho I would say you have a pretty good shot. If UMN is your top school I suggest you apply as soon as the application opens. They generally get back to you within 2 weeks or so if you apply priority and you’ll have your answer. CSE is the most competitive school but your ACT is still within range. Does your school have class rank?
I also recommend that you fill out the optional essays, it gives them a better idea of who you are as a student and why you belong at the U. Good-luck! If you have any more questions drop them below.
