Chance me at UNC-Chapel Hill? In-State!

If you could please let me know what my chances are for…
-UNC Chapel Hill
-UNC-Wilmington
-George Washington University
-American University
-Boston College
Proposed Major: (double major) International Relations and Theatre

Before you read: I go to a very rural public school in NC that offers next to no APs, no test prep, and has a high drop out rate, if that matters at all. To make up for APs, I have taken several dual-enrollment classes

I'm a rising senior

Objective:
• SAT I (breakdown): 1750 (CR: 670 M: 430 (I know.) W: 650 E: 10) (Single Time, I will retake in the fall to try and raise my scores. I have done extensive math prep and hope to raise my math score by at least 150 points, as well as a possible raise on my CR and W)
• ACT: 28 (again, if I raise the math I will be upwards of 30)
• SAT II: N/A (I will take United States History and Literature)
• Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.88
• Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): top 10
• AP (place score in parenthesis): Pending Score: US History (my school only offers 4 AP classes, and this is the only one available to non-seniors)
• IB (place score in parenthesis): N/A
• Senior Year Course Load: AP English Literature, AP US Gov, AP Human Geo, Dual Enrollment Statistics, Honors Anatomy
• Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): N/A
Subjective:
• Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):
-Student Government Association (I’ve been president of my class since freshmen year, I will most likely be Student Body Pres next year)
-Drama Club (Co-Founder, President)
-DECA (Reporter, VP, Pres. District and state champion, national competitor)
-National Honors Society
-Junior Achievement (winner of regional essay contest, published by their organization)
-Varsity Indoor Track, 3 years

Non School Related Extracurriculars:
- Theatre (performed in community theatres and professionally for 10 years)

• Job/Work Experience:
-Camp Counselor at a youth theatre camp
-High School Intern with a Duke Engage program

• Volunteer/Community service:
-Volunteer work with various clubs (almost 300 hours)

• Essays: Should be great. I’m working on my common app essay and will work on the UNC supplement with the Duke graduate students I’m working with this summer.
• Teacher Recommendation: Should be very strong
• Counselor Rec: I think that it will be great, I am really engaged with my school
• Additional Rec: I’m hoping that the program director for my Duke-sponsored internship this summer will write a recommendation for me.
Other
• State (if domestic applicant): NC
• Country (if international applicant):
• School Type: Very rural, small, public high school
• Ethnicity: White
• Gender: Female
• Income Bracket: Single parent: 40k, Combined: 70-80K
• Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): I have legacy at UNC.

Bump!!! :)

-UNC Chapel Hill- Reach (need to bump up that ACT to 30+ or SAT to 2000+)
-UNC-Wilmington- Match/low match
-George Washington University- Reach (same thing as Chap)
-American University- Match
-Boston College- Reach

Thank you! Is a 2000+ a necessity for in-state UNC-CH? Most people at my school have gotten in with less.

Bump! Can I get some more opinions?

As a fellow “in-stater” who is familiar with these schools, let me give you some insight. Although no one on a silly website can TRULY “chance” you, I’ll do my best. Remember, college admissions are unpredictable. I have lurked on this forum for awhile and have seen people get into Harvard but rejected by Duke.
-UNC Chapel Hill: Reach. Depending on how competitive your class is and how much competition you have. They will look at how you rank amongst your peers that are also applying. However, if your the only one applying due to the ruralness you speak of, you may have a chance.
-UNC-Wilmington: Easily a match. Def a safety here.
-George Washington University: Reach.
-American University: Match.
-Boston College: Reach. Another reach, but just try to raise those test scores. Boston seems to be more picky than the others in my opinion. Seems like they are looking for unique students.

Overall, you are applying to some moderately selective schools. If you would like some more justification or more insight on NC based schools let me know. good luck.

I just realized that my weighted GPA of 4.55 isn’t listed here. WFUWannabe, would you say that my test scores are the main thing holding me back, or could I improve elsewhere? Thanks!

Your GPA is not lacking, so you are doing well there. Also you still have time to bring it up if you apply in the second semester of your senior year. I’d def say the test scores are holding you back. Also is your class rank within the top 10? or top 10%? Colleges such as Boston and UNC-chap really look at class rank. You say you go to a rural school, thus generally meaning the competition isn’t high. They will question why you don’t have a 4.0 and aren’t #1 in your class if you have “next to no APs,” and a “high drop out rate.”

All in all, I’m not being harsh or anything!! Colleges will question everything.
