I've finished my application to UT. I'm not an auto-admit, but I applied to this Hindi-Urdu Flagship Program, due to the deep interest I gained while living in India for 6 months in my sophomore year. I have a phone interview this Friday with the director (who happens to be the author of the Hindi learning book I own!!!!!), but I'm just stressed because my admission to the program is contingent on my acceptance to UT. Based on my stats, do you think I have a shot?
SAT- 1930 - 710 Writing, 620 Reading, 600 Math
ACT-27 (probably not going to submit this score...)
Rank - Top 15.3%. (Competitive High School!)
GPA-3.91 (Weighted)
Extracurriculars:
High School Debate team - active member all 4 years. Competed in National Catholic Forensic League Tournament in my Junior Year.
AYUSA Student Ambassador to the Foreign Exchange Students - Actively involved with the exchange students from freshman year on. This was my first 'true' leadership experience, and it really helped me grow as a person.
Hosted Exchange Student - Sophomore Year. (spring Semester)
Lived in India/Bangladesh- Sophomore year. (fall semester)
Gay-Straight Alliance- Active Member past 2 years.
Interact (youth version of rotary)- Active member last year. Secretary this year. Help coordinate various community service projects.
Global Issues Coordinator - Lead weekly discussions on current events.
BP MS 150- Rode in 150 Mile Bike race from Houston to Austin. Co-Leading the Team this year.
Interfaith- Active member last year. Am president this year. Lead discussions on differing religions. Host guest speakers periodically.
Entomology Intern/Worker- Worked in Ento lab this summer. Am interning to create a project for presentation at a regional convention in February.

I should mention that I conveyed my interest in the Hindi-Urdu Program through a letter of recommendation my Spanish teacher wrote. While my interview with the program director is this friday, I wanted to let the admissions office know that I had applied to this program. Is there any way this would look favorably to the UT admissions office? I applied to Liberal Arts, if that's any indicator of my chances.

I would GREATLY appreciate it if knowledgeable people gave me some input on my chances. I'm really banking on this university, seeing as how it's the only Hindi program in my State, and I'm not going to get much financial assistance with out of state tuition.

Thanks.
