Chance me at UVa OOS! Thanks!

Hey guys I am hoping that you guys can help me and chance me on the University of Virginia. I plan to apply early action. Any comments help!

I have a 4.43 GPA with 5 AP classes as of the end of this year, planning to take 5 more next year. My GPA is on track to improve further this year (knock on wood). 2070 SAT m800 wr700 cr570, I will be taking the test again in order to hopefully, fingers crossed, improve my reading score as I am already scoring higher on practice tests. I will being applying for biochemistry/chemistry. My EC’s are fairly decent, officer of one club, president of another, and a member of one more, three sport varsity athlete in swimming, water polo, and sailing. Service wise, I have done a fair amount of community service with my church youth group, two week long mission trips, and supporting my community in that group. I have also done a lot of independent service, but no need to get into that. I have just recently started a web design company that is still in the making, hopefully to sprout up this summer. I worked at Dunkin Donuts for 9 months, and also was a sailing instructor for an entire summer my freshman year. This summer I plan to become a volunteer EMT, work at a local restaurant, and potentially go on another service trip.

Thanks guys, btw I am OOS living in New Hampshire if anyone didn’t see.

Reach because of OOS status and SAT score. Your CR is REALLY low.

If you can improve reading, you will have a shot.

2190 update 800m 700 wr 690cr

Score is low for EA. You have better chance with RD.

With your new SAT score you are very competitive. The EA acceptance rate is the same as RD, so there isn’t going to be that big of change EA vs RD. I think you are in to be honest.

Thank you guys for the comments even though contradictory… Hahaha.

What do you guys think about U Wisconsin Madison as an out of state safety?

UMW is not a safety. A match, not a safety.

I mean based on who gets in from my school, Im far more qualified than them…

With a 2190 and top 3%…

Definitely try to improve your CR.

@JalapenoGreens I got it up to a 690 so Im at a 2190 superscore!

@crazytaco7 a 2190 would be considered very good and bump your chances up for admissions significantly if you were a Virginian resident. Although it would be considered strong for admission for an OOS applicant, if you can increase your CR score by 30-50 points, it would be even stronger.

But if you prefer not to take the SAT again, it’s fine too. To be honest, your SAT score is already considered competitive in UVa’s eyes; what really matters now boils down to how genuine your essays are and how well you convey your personality in these essays. So don’t worry about test scores and fine tune your writing when Common App opens late summer.

Update on scores, I recieved a 760 chem 740 phys and 720m2. 5 on AP Chemistry 5 on AP Calculus 4 on AP English and 4 on AP Physics 1. I plan to apply as a chemistry major. Any updates help! Thanks!
