Interviewed in November that I thought went very well, discussed the school and included lots of specific programs, clubs, current news related to the school, etc. Followed up interview with handwritten thank you note.
Toured campus twice, and once informally.
My dad graduated from Columbia business school and is a guest lecturer from time to time; not sure if this matters at all.
While my grades are below their average, I have done very well in my areas of interest, english and history. I’ve had A’s in every english and history class, but am a pretty consistent B/B+ in math and science unfortunately. My counselor goes into detail about this in my letter of rec, as my cumulative GPA is signifagantly lower as the result of one specific

- Co-Presdent of art club that organized an auction of student art work to donate the proceeds to a local charity.
- Head of social media for a club at my school that collects school supplies and ships them to schools in Ghana that place an emphasis on the education of young girls and women.
- Interned with Senator Chris Murphy on his Fight Back CT initiative, educating people on the importance of voting and registration.
- Interned at an off broadway theater in New York City working on marketing ideas
- Sustainability Intern at a very large food distribution company, writing blog post for the company and assisting in a brand new composting initiative that would bring the company to zero organics to landfill. (the first food company to do so)
- Art instagram with over 2,500 followers. Also submitted an optional portfolio of my art though Slide Room.
- Peer Tutor though NHS and Mentor for freshman students.
- Worked 40 hours a week at a local summer club sophomore year and 20 hours the summer of junior year, while also doing the other two internships.
