You need to give us more information. A 3.0 weighted isn’t very good, do you mean unweighted? How many AP/honors classes did you take and which ones? Also, we need more information about your internships.

Assuming you have never taken an honors/AP class and your unweighted gpa is sub 3 with little ECs I doubt you’ll get in.

APs
AP Physics B (Sophmore)
AP English Language (Junior)
AP Statistics (Junior)
AP English Literature (Senior)
AP Computer Science (Senior)

Honors:
Besides Physical Education everything else is honors.

ECs
Internships: One with the NYC City Government dealing with IT
Work Exp: Working as Head of Marketing Department for a Startup (featured on TechCrunch)

It shows who you’re competing with. I notice one of the GPA’s was a 2.8 unweighted and a 3.0 weighted… and they were accepted. I also saw someone with a 3.7 GPA weighted and they were denied. So I guess it depends. I think you have a shot =)

It’s a crapshoot no matter what you do, so just know that beforehand. The fact that you’re a relatively local, URM, male should carry you decently with the Fordham adcoms.

3.0 weighted, not so much. But I’d report the 85, not the 3.0. Fordham’s conversion is a bit different. I think you’d be somewhere around a 3.3 on their scale. SAT’s aren’t stellar, but you never know.

Work experience is impressive, but other than that and the internship, it doesn’t seem like you have any others (especially in-school). That certainly won’t win you any points.

You might have a shot, though! So, good luck! Please let us know what happens. Fordham is my first choice for 2010 admissions, and I don’t have too awesome of a record either.

Fordham isn’t very hard to get into. You’ll be fine, especially with a bunch of AP classes and work experience. good luck, i applied there as well
