Chance Me! Boston College Early Decision

Hello! I’m a female student from the midwest with a public high school (graduating class of 365). I am applying Early Decision to Boston College CSOM with a major in Business Management and Leadership and a minor in Applied Psychology.

My stats are below:

34 ACT (submitted)
4.0 unweighted and 4.5 weighted GPA
Completed 5 APs (APUSH, Gov, Lang, Bio, Stats)
Currently enrolled in 6 (Macro/Micro, Lit, Seminar, Psych, Calc AB, CSP)
3 college courses and all honors during my time in high school.

My school does not rank, though I know I am a contender for receiving “Top 5%” ranking (our school’s “valedictorian” for the top percentage of GPA in our graduating class.) I also received recognition for my academics and leadership with a nomination for Buckeye Girl State with two other individuals from my class.

I am founding president on 2 clubs (Career Oriented and ASL), president of NHS, and on leadership board for two others. I am the sole student representative on the board for my city’s food pantry/service center, and organize/attend numerous events for them throughout the year. I danced varsity and competitively until my Junior year, and I am now just a recreational dancer.

Since my freshman year I have been working with a local publishing company (doing interviews, writing pieces, collecting content) and have worked at a local brewery as a host/manager. I also worked for my dance studio my freshman and sophomore year as a teacher’s assistant.

This summer, I attended the Ever to Excel summer program and had a blast! Thanks in advance for you thoughts— I truly appreciate it!

You’re competitive. So it’s worth a shot.

Give it your best shot. You are qualified. But have your targets and safeties just in case. If they don’t grab you then you’ll find one to love who will. You are great and worthy.

Good luck.

You definitely have a pretty good chance with ED. And it looks like that you are very familiar with BC after the summer program.

It will be much harder if you apply RD, especially for CSOM.
