Chance me: Boston University (SMG), UCLA, UCB, NYU (Stern), University of Washington.

I would not advise skipping an entire year of school. I do not think it will prove anything to colleges. If at all, you will be at a disadvantage.

@ How would I be at a disadvantage?

You would not have had the opportunity to join and participate in clubs (commitment and breadth). Also, other applicants might have a better resume because they had time to improve it. Just pointing it out. I wish you the best of luck.

You should get into BU SMG early

No, skipping a year won’t be good for you. Colleges will be cautious of your maturity level, and you also won’t learn as much. Why don’t you try to get a 2250 SAT and apply to Ivies?

I want to, however I’m afraid that I don’t have enough time since the new SATs are going to be out soon. @collegeguy97

There’s new SAT’s? Wow. I feel old. lol Jk!

I go to UCLA, so i can only gove you feedback from there. Your stats are pretty stellar. Just show them who you truly are and have a passion for in your personal statements. Make sure you’re not “ticket punching”. What i mean by that, since your a Sophmore in high school, is don’t join a ton of random clubs just to look good on an application. Schools want to see commitment rather than quantity.

Thanks! @CuriousJDG9513

NYU (Stern), Notre Dame (Mendoza), Carnegie Mellon, Boston College (Carroll), and Claremont Mckenna anyone? I added a few to my list to see how far I can get. Planning on retaking the SAT, so if I reach my goal of 2200, I will apply for ivies.

Bumpity Bump

Are you a CA or WA resident? CA is pretty nasty about financial aid if you’re not, and so Berkeley and UCLA might not be the best options for you. WA is a little less expensive for non-residents, but the same problem will apply at many state universities. You’re actually likelier to get a good aid package from private colleges. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of highly-qualified Asian-American applicants at most of those colleges. I think you have a decent chance of academic admission to most, if not all of them, but finances might be a problem. I’d add Tulane, Pitt, SMU, Lehigh, University of Miami, and Northeastern to the list, as places where you might get a generous aid package. Temple would probably be a safety. If you are a CA resident, then . . . never mind . . . lower-tier UCs will be excellent safeties.

Thank you so much! Your input is highly appreciated! I will definitely look into those colleges! @woogzmama

2 more bumps and I’m done~
