Took SAT, I'm expecting(fingers crossed) a low 2000 to a low 2100 first time.

Also looking for research with math Profs, could this help?

Rank top 5%

Chance me? Also I am in junior year, so any suggestions for improvements would help :)

I disagree with or2013. I think you also have a solid shot at Northeastern. Maybe he/she was thinking of Northwestern…? Of course, the others you have on your list are reaches (as they are for almost everybody), but if you make sure to show your personality through your essays and keep up the good grades, you should stand a chance against most other applicants. One piece of advice I have for you is to try and retake the SATs for a better score if you are set on Brown, UPenn, or MIT. Good luck!

sat scores came out, got a 1960, okay I guess. I’ve looked up admissions statistics, and it seems I still have a fair shot at Brown even though it is at the lower end of their range, but Upenn is distant, and MIT even More so. I really want to raise it at least 100 points, but my goal will be to break 2100 on my next sat. What do you think, is this accurate? Any adjustments to predictions on reaches/safeties?, also considering cornell because it has a good physics department .

On target for UConn, Penn State, Northeastern. You might have a chance at Brown but this depends on your essays and recommendations. You have a slim chance at MIT, most of kids have 2250+. UPenn is slim as well for the same reason.

All these top schools are difficult to get into. Make sure to shine through in your essays. Be unique and passionate about something you do and the school you are applying to

Cornell eng and a&s are pretty hard to get into. Those stats are ok but could be better. The stats for cornell are deceptive if you r applying to one of these schools. Early 1400s on the sat cr+m would be ok for cornell. How did u do on sat math? That score is important since u r interested in math.

Are my scores my weakest area, like if I had a higher score would I be a prime candidate for the reaches on my list? Also, just thinking strategy, if I figure I really like one of the schools on my list, say, Brown, Penn, or Cornell, would ED or EA greatly improve my chances? Thanks

Are my scores my weakest areas? I’m taking math II, would a 800 aid my chances at any of the schools such as Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, any how much better would this make my application? I am really wondering how much scores matter in college admissions, do they look at them and then if you’re in their “range”, they continue to consider you, or is it like a large percentage of the process like 20-30%? I guess my perception is really skewed, I had a relative who got into Cornell with a mid 1700, granted they had really solid ECs, but still. Also, would Early decision or early action help at any of those schools, by how much would it raise my chances?
