-not much research or job experience
-probably a finance or financial mathematics major

Im mostly concerned about whether the A-'s hurt me significantly, and whether i can still get in with these stats even though I havent done research, im not published in academic journals, etc.

You seem to be a strong applicant to me, you have a clear passion for swimming (are you being recruited?) and I wouldn’t worry about a few A-'s. Of course, it is in the nature of ivy leagues to be kind of a crapshoot for admissions - so it’s a reach for you, just like everyone else. ECs are by no means my specialty, but I would think a lack of research experience wouldn’t stand out as much because you’re not applying as a science major, and your classes seem more advanced math oriented (multi-var calc, AP Macro and AP micro). Princeton, MIT and Penn (I’m assuming you mean UPenn, if you mean Penn State it’s a safety all the way) are reaches, Hopkins I think would be a high match/low reach (your SAT scores appear to align with their 75th percentile).

Princeton, MIT, and Penn are all reaches for you, but definitely attainable. JH is a high match / low reach.

Good luck! :)

Chance back?
