I was born in Kenya and 6 years later my family and I relocated to Texas. At a doctor’s visit a few months after arriving, I was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. This experience really drew me in to the medical field, and is the primary reason why being a cardiologist is my dream job.
I’m currently a junior, and I have a dream of one day attending BROWN as part of the PLME program!! I’m also planning to apply to Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, Rice, and Stanford among many others.

SAT Subject tests: I’ll be taking Math 2 and Chemistry in June. (I did get a 710 on Biology E last year…I probably won’t send depending on Math 2/Chem scores)
AP Courses: AP Human Geography, AP Biology, AP World History AP Physics 1, AP Chemistry, AP Physics 2, AP Language and Composition, and AP US History.
Extra Curricular activites/ Summer Programs:
(1) President of the Technology Student Association Chapter at my school (Co-Founder of the chapter in 2016). As the president, my passion is to create opportunities for students at my school to get a taste of the STEM fields.
(2) NASA High School Aerospace Scholar (ongoing). I completed the offsite program, and I was selected for the onsite program at the Johnson Space Center.
(3) NIH STEP UP Program (My coordinating center in Stanford University). It’s an 8-10 week full time research experience. A generous stipend will be awarded. Summer 2018 Student Council - Treasurer
(5) DFW Airport Navigator - Navigator (Since 2015).
(6) Harmony SAT Prep Program- Founder It’s a cost-free program focused on helping students at my school increase their SAT scores. I head the math sections, and I have a couple of friends who help with the R/W sections. It’s been fairly successful with an average score increase of 70 Varsity Basketball - Captain (Starting PG)

(1) Airport Ambassador at the DFW AIRPORT (over 100 volunteer hours)
(2) Baylor Scott & White Volunteer (over 100 volunteer hours) Worked at the telemetry department where I helped hundreds of cardiac patients. I performed vital signs, and was able to shadow nurses and technicians.

If I need more one I’ll also get one from my AP Chemistry teacher (PHD), and hopefully one from my mentor this summer (STEP UP).
