Hi! I’m applying ED to Brown. Here are my stats!
Stats:
GPA: 4.33 weighted, 3.96 unweighted
ACT: two 33s that superscore to a 34
AP: two 3s and two 4s and taking five more this year
ECs:
Elected president of a national organization (10,000 members)
Organized and produced a charity event that raised $37,000
Debate team
Theatre
Mental Health club
(more various ones but these are the main ones)
Work:
Theatre Director for children’s theatre
Art Director at a major media agency
Awards:
Honored at a youth activist gala
Certificate of appreciation from my town
“Local Hero” status from my county
What concentration? What career plans, if related to the concentration? e.g. Pre-med → medical school
How do the 3s and 4s on the APs match against the courses relevant to your intended concentration? A 3 in AP Calc wouldn’t bode well for admission to Applied Math (or any STEM), but would be less of an impediment for English. For the most part, I see 4’s and 5’s from ED interviewees who are deferred to RD.
FWIW, leadership activities are of more importance than awards, especially when the awards aren’t relevant to the intended concentration.
@Brown79 ED deadline was today at 11:59 pm, so hopefully the applicant submitted their application.
Good luck OP!
