Currently doing cancer research which I am planning to enter in the Regeneron Talent Search and possibly other contests. I also worked on a separate project throughout my junior year which I was forced to discontinue due to my advisor’s health issues.

I am considering ED for JHU and ED2 for CMC. I have already selected safety schools which I have not included here.

Thanks for any feedback!

bump!

Your academics are good except for your AP’s, maybe consider not sending them? If you have two threes I wouldn’t.
With research, consider looking to a conference to present at, or a journal to get published in.
Otherwise, it seems your EC’s are good, though not extremely exceptional (mostly just volunteering). Your FBS stands out the most.

@pieguy54321 how much will my GPA affect my chances? I would have thought that my research would be my best EC even without awards but maybe not

@feyrhys it seems that your research is only research rn (so like an internship) but you haven’t actually published or won anything yet. BC of that it doesn’t rlly stand out yet, but if you do get published or get finalist/win it will stand out a lot. A lot of applicants will have done research or had internships with professors/people so rn it’s not the best imo. The reason I said FBS was since you show commitment with it by doing it all your years and you’re Co-Pres and won state in an event, and I’m assuming qualified to nationals. If you really do a lot with the club that probably stands out more than an internship that hasn’t done anything yet.
For your GPA, it’s high enough to where it won’t significantly harm you, but it’s not going to show that you are the most qualified student academically (that with your AP’s). You just have to make it up with your EC’s and show your passions.
