I’m applying for CAS in the winter term as a freshman after a gap year, and I thought I’d like to know my chances for BU!
Demographics: 18, white/asian, West coast.
GPA: 3.5 UW, 3.7W (Competitive private high school)
ACT: 35 (taken sophomore year)
SATII: Math 790, Literature 690
AP’s: US History, Government, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, French (Only took the tests, all 5’, since my school doesn’t have AP’s)
Rank: School doen’t rank, probably top 1/2~1/3 (only 50 in my class)
Activities:
- Captain of XC, Track Team. 3-time Regional Champion XC, 2-time MVP XC
- Martial Arts: Competed at Junior Nationals as a captain of my state, got 4th.
- Volunteering: Volunteered at a local recycling center, local wilderness trail management organization, total around 300-350 hours.
- Foreign language: I’ve completed a full 12-year school cirriculum at a local international school, and am competiitve with students from my home country.
- Work Experience: I work with several local healthcare providers with a full-time job after I graduated high school, (Im possibly pre-dent/med), and am continuing to do so while I audit courses at a local community college.
- Have played the violin and upright bass for 15 and 4 years respectively,
Honors:
- 1st in my school for AIME (AMC)
- 3x gold medals from National French Competition
