strengths: huge upward trend

also should I mention that I'm a first generation in the US? Does that make a difference?

Dartmouth and Cornell - reaches 'cause they’re Ivies…
USC - high match, low reach - if you were in the top 1% of PSAT scores, that would mean you would be a NM semifinalist, and they give huge opportunities for NMSFs (including half tuition for finalists)
UCLA - match. high match - being in the top 10% of your class does help a LOT for UCLA…
UCB - low reach, reach - like UCLA get to the top 10%

Those are all I’m really experienced with…

Being first gen as a college student helps, but if your parents went to college outside of the US and you’re first in the US then it really doesn’t matter.

I count 15 ECs - colleges like to see dedication in one or two (or three) ECs rather than 10 or more ECs where you spread your time.

Dartmouth - low reach (because ivy)
Cornell- low reach (because ivy)
USC- high match
UCLA- match/ low match
Berkeley- high match/match
U Virginia- high match
Tufts- match/high match
NYU - high match

Try to take more APs if you can. Otherwise you’re pretty great.

@avix215‌ for ap’s I’ll be taking 6 APs my senior year

You should have no problem then. Just maintain good grades and retake the SAT if you think you can score even higher in your senior year. Good luck!

All of the schools you mentioned are either low/high reaches or matches, your ecs and everything look pretty good, and being a first gen/urm will definitely help you out. It seems you’re taking AP classes for senior year, so you should be good to go!

For berkeley, my friend that got in had 2200 sat , 800 on satII math and chem, 4.0 gpa… and he told me that was low for usual acceptance ( comp sci )… i would say it is a reach judging from what he has told me

Based upon your SAT scores and subject tests, your GPA is not under-inflated due to a super difficult school (make no mistake, they are good scores, but not enough to overlook a 3.6). For some schools on your list, AP Scholar with honor is an achievement, while for others it is below average. EC’s + hook are your big selling points that bring some of these schools into the reach/match range.

The “verdict”:
Dartmouth: Reach
Cornell: Low reach
USC: Match/high-match
UCLA: High match
UCB: Match/High match
UVA: not familiar enough with their admissions process to give accurate indicator
Tufts: Low reach
NYU: Safety-low match
